Blending Cultures and Aesthetics

Beth was hired to transform the interior of a conventional colonial home on the East Coast of the US for a Taiwanese family. Much of the effort was to reconfigure typical western rooms to fit an Asian household.

The Tea Room is the spiritual center of this home offering a beautifully restful area in which to serve fine teas. The tall entry hall telegraphed the playful and unconventional approach the family has toward their surroundings with dramatic blue light sculptures. Modern Western and Asian artifacts are combined through out to create an intriguing blend of two aesthetics.
